Welcome

The curtain rises

You are about to enter the world of the Teatro Club, an international crossroad of the most important and vital experiences of European and non-European theater, dance, and performing arts. For the first time, you may discover images, documents, rare and unpublished materials on the artists, events, and performances that gave rise to the shows that took place between 1957 and1984.

The exploration of the worlds of the Teatro Club allows us to discover scenes and landscapes that have helped to reshape the boundaries, the value, and the meaning of the performing arts of the Second Half of the Twentieth Century.

The vast scope of selected document sources provides a vivid mosaic of experiences, projects and ideas that have shaped a unique theatrical journey: a valuable tool for research by passionate theater lovers and scholars, as well as by those who are simply curious.

The consultable documents come from: Fondo Teatro Club – Biblioteca Statale Antonio Baldini di Roma; Archivio Gerardo Guerrieri – Dipartimento di Storia Antropologia Religioni Arte Spettacolo, Sapienza Università di Roma; Museo Biblioteca dell’Attore di Genova; Archivio della Famiglia Guerrieri, Roma; Archivio fotografico di Tommaso Le Pera, Roma.
